Le Tour de France 2017
The 104th edition of the Tour de France commenced yesterday, Saturday 1 July, with a 14 km time trial stage in Düsseldorf, Germany. Conditions were rough as rain splattered across the tarmac and caused many a cyclist to take it easy on the turns. But not everyone was lucky, with fan favourite Alejandro Valverde of Team Movistar falling out of the race entirely after an early crash into the metal barriers caused him to break his kneecap.
In the end, a surprise win by Geraint Thomas puts Team Sky in the forefront for what will undoubtedly be another exciting (and at this point, wet) race. Stay tuned as we at saadl bring you more highlights over the next three weeks.
